Safe Food Handler: A Comprehensive Food Safety Training Program

Safe Food Handler is an ANSI-ANAB accredited program developed by Cogneti LLC. It is a comprehensive food safety training program that covers various topical areas such as foodborne illness, time/temperature control for safety, employee hygiene, receiving and storing food products, preparing and serving food, and cleaning and sanitizing. The program is designed to help individuals gain knowledge and skills in accordance with the 2017 FDA Food Code and generally-accepted industry practices.

To participate in the program, users need a valid email address to register and authenticate their information. The program requires a payment of $15 for the full license fee, although Levels 1 and 2 are available as a free trial. The program has a minimum seat time of approximately two hours, during which users can learn, quiz themselves, and complete the exam.

Safe Food Handler is a self-guided program that allows unlimited exam attempts and is available only in English. Users can download the Safe Food Handler app, register, and sign in to get started. They can then use the LEARN function to study the seven levels of course instruction and complete quizzes for each level. Once all levels have been completed, users can attempt the exam and must pass with a minimum score of 70%.

Upon passing the exam, users will receive a program certificate via email, along with an eBadge that can be used to validate their certification. The certificate is valid for three years, and the eBadge provides a portable way to showcase the accomplishment. Refunds for the license fee are available upon request, subject to Cogneti staff's discretion.
